I like to use palette knives on canvas and I like to work big.
I did a painting last year about me going to the moon. I have done one which
is a life drawing in oil pastels. I get my ideas from my head.
The lino cut is all about Jeanette.
She comes to the a2a course which is the other room on a Tuesday. I had to make the linocut into a puzzle.
You have got a house, then you got Jeanette with a sketch book and handbag and there’s a church on the end.
Changing guard of Buckingham Palace
I started off drawing it, then I did a line up to the pebbles, then another
line up the grass up to where the purple bit is. As you can see you
have two black clouds and the two white clouds. Some of the pebbles
are going into the sea and you’ve got the waves as well.
Then you’ve got myself saluting in my overalls with pockets, pictures and a couple
of bracelets. Standing to attention.
