Access to Art (a2a)

a2a is a radical arts project in which artists with learning disabilities work alongside undergraduate art students from the University of Brighton. Over the past four years it has established a pioneering model for inclusive learning and now provides a unique platform for research into teaching methods.
a2a course

The a2a course is open to people with a love of making art who want to develop their skills and experience new ways of working. The a2a course runs every Tuesday during term time at Phoenix Arts Association. Students are enrolled with Sussex Downs College. Access to Art 2

Access to Art 2 involves learning disabled young people and non-learning disabled students from Hastings College of Art and technology in one-day art workshops working at Project Art Works. The first pilot project took place over 10 weeks in Autumn 2005. Access to Art 2 is a collaboration between Project Art Works, Hastings College and Art and Technology (HCAT) and University of Brighton (UoB). It was developed and run by Kate Adams (from Project Art Works), Anthony McIntosh (HCAT) and Alice Fox (UoB) who are all artists.
