Our projects – Smudged

Smudged

A performance at Tate Modern

A photo of the performance
May 2008

Smudged brought together the visual art practice of the Rocket Artists and performance skills of the Corali dancers.

The performance was inspired by the Ideas and Objects collection at Tate Modern where the project took place.

This inclusive collaboration has been a vibrant and inspiring process of knowledge exchange through creative practice. The process of collaboration has created a space for equality of expression and the development of creative ideas ensuring everyone involved has contributed to the overall shape of the show. The blurring and mixing of individual responses underpins this unique performance.

Performed on Wednesday 14th May 2008 at Tate Modern in McAulay Studio A.

The Rocket Artists and Corali dancers hope to work together again in the future to create more performance work and share their artistic skills.

Funded by Arts Council South East and Henry Smiths Charity. Supported by Tate Modern through the donation of rehearsal space.
